Leamington Football Club wishes to remind all supporters that anti-social behaviour is not welcome at our matches. Across football there has been an increase in unacceptable behaviour that can put fans, players, staff and match officials at risk.  

These actions can result in those responsible facing a stadium ban, football banning order or criminal prosecution, and threaten the club you support, damaging our reputation and placing us at risk of fines or sanctions from the football authorities. 

This season has seen a pitch incursion by a small number of our fans away at Chester FC plus the release of pyrotechnics and sadly there was further release of smoke bombs by our fans at the recent game versus Kidderminster Harriers.  We were reported to the FA with regard to both instances and are currently on report to the FA reference the Chester match whilst we await the outcome of their enquiry reference the Kidderminster incident.  There is every possibility that we may receive a significant financial punishment with regard to that.

These incidents are attributed to a group of younger supporters who have started following the club this season and have provided great vociferous support to the team but sadly a few of their number have been responsible for  the incidents. For those few individuals, the message is clear: stop now or stay away until you can control yourself. 

Entering the pitch, carrying or using smoke bombs, throwing objects, taking drugs, and racist, threatening, misogynistic or homophobic chanting or language will not be tolerated, and anyone identified engaging in anti-social or criminal behaviour at our matches can expect the club and local Police to take action with the possibility culprits may end up with a criminal record. 

We will be working proactively with the safety team to further strengthen our match day security procedures with additional stewarding and searches, which will be at cost to the club. Supporters are reminded that bringing prohibited items into the stadium, including alcohol, glass bottles and cans, is a breach of the ground regulations.

If you witness someone behaving offensively at our matches or see or hear something that concerns you, please report it to the nearest steward or club official.

Anyone wishing to report any matter of concern to the club out with match day can do so via email safety@leamingtonfc.co.uk  Matters will be treated in confidence.

Everyone associated with Leamington FC should be proud of our reputation and we all have a responsibility to uphold the values of a community-focused family club. 

For the overwhelming majority of our well behaved fans we thank you for your continued support.

Paul Holleran spoke to the press on Thursday ahead of Saturday's National League North clash against second placed King's Lynn Town...

"It will be great to see Tommy and Hugo again. They're a super club, and we had a real tough game up there at the start of the season where we had to dig really deep to get out of there with a point. A good goalkeeping performance meant that (Leamington are the only side to take points off King's Lynn at the Walks), we were quite resilient. But listen, they're where I thought they would be. They've got good players, lots of people who can score goals and lots of experience so they're one of two or three sides that could win the league.

"We're looking forward to the challenge, it's not been ideal the last three weeks! It's more difficult when you're one of the lesser clubs in the league but we've done as much as we can, kept things ticking over and managed to do things two or three times a week and kept everyone up to speed. The players have been good, we've got on grass a couple of times this week which is good. We're up at the ground tonight and the pitch is thawing, so hopefully another decent day on Friday and we are able to get some work on the pitch. Fingers crossed we'll be okay!

"For us, it's a big week or so with three home games. We've got one or two players back, we've brought Ollie (Hulbert) to the football club - it gives one or two more options. Listen, it's pretty obvious that the attacking element of our game has got to improve, and when I say attacking, that involves a number of players - virtually every player on the pitch - going into the final third whether it's going in from wide areas, middle of the pitch, runners from midfield, high line players, wingers, set plays. We've got to do more in those areas and if we do, I'm sure we'll be fine.

"The new young element of our support is super. The club's going to need them in the future, and what we've got to try and do - the fans have been feeding off of scraps recently, they can see how hard the players are working, they can see structure but they want goalmouth action, they want goals and that's what we're desperate to deliver for them. It's going to be a tough 10 days but we're looking forward to it, but we know that, like every season, the majority of our points come here (at home) so if we're going to get ourselves into that pack just above us, we're going to have to pick up big points here."

We can confirm that we will now make the trip to Spennymoor Town's The Brewery Field on Tuesday 21 March, 7:45pm kick off.
