Leamington FC will be making a presentation on the pitch ahead of kick off today against Kidderminster Harriers to our Premier League Community Captain.

The Premier League are encouraging clubs to share a story reflective of our club’s rich history in the form of their Community Captain to celebrate 30 years of the Premier League.

The presentation will be made ahead of kick off today by Chairman Jim Scott and Manager Paul Holleran, we’re keeping the identity of the winner under wraps until it's announced!

I would like to start by wishing everyone connected with Leamington FC a Happy and Prosperous 2023 hoping that you have had an enjoyable Christmas.

Season 2021-22 started late in mid August 2021, or at least should have, if Covid had not infiltrated the camp on the night before our home opener versus Gateshead.  A two week delay saw us open our campaign with a two one win over Spennymoor Town and Paul Holleran guided us to a relatively stress free 15th place in the league table come the end of the campaign.  The loss of striker Kelsey Mooney to a ruptured ACL in late March was a damaging loss in a campaign that ended in the first week of May.

A one nil win over a strong Burton Albion outfit in early March saw us once again progress to the Birmingham Senior Cup Final, this time to be played at Villa Park in the first week of May.  Goals from Devon Kelly-Evans, Dan Turner and James Mace saw us lift the cup in a 3-1 win over old rivals Stourbridge FC in front of a crowd of over one thousand Brakes fans in a game attended by just over 2000.

A massive shout out to our Media Team, for their efforts in further developing a first class media content that is the envy of most other clubs.  Programme Editor Sally Ellis supported by her team of contributors and Minuteman Press delivered their usual high standard earning the fantastic accolade of No.1 Programme amongst Non-League clubs.

Once again our merry band of volunteers has done so much for the club over the year and undoubtedly we could not function at this level of football without them.  Thank you to each and every one of you.

I would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support these last twelve months and look forward to building bridges with new potential sponsors and further developing our relationship with all of them in the New Year.

Our Brakes Community Foundation has made considerable strides over the year with a rapidly expanding range of work and activity within the community.  My thanks go to the Board of Trustees for their efforts and to all the staff who have contributed so much.

My appreciation also goes to our Board of Directors for all their efforts in steering us through a difficult twelve months yet maintaining the solid foundations that have served us so well since the re-birth of the club in the year 2000.

Lastly and most importantly we thank each and every one of our fans for your continued support, which will be much needed as we enter the New Year in 14th position in the league table.  With four teams being relegated this season and little to choose between the teams I am sure we are in for an enthralling end of season in the New Year be it avoiding relegation or climbing towards the edge of the play-offs.

Of course, everyone’s well being is the most important thing in these challenging times, with my key wish being that you all have a safe and Happy New Year.

Jim Scott
Chairman
Leamington Football Club

A date has been confirmed for Leamington's closest away game of the National League North season.

Paul Holleran's side will now make the 16 mile journey to the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium on Tuesday 28 February, 19:45 kick off, to face off with Banbury United.

The initial game was postponed due to Banbury's continued involvement in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

Every 90 minutes, 25 households are made homeless in Britain.

Leamington FC are delighted to be taking part in Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign and will be wearing our Royal Blue away kit on Boxing Day as we play Gloucester City at Your Co-op Community Stadium. Brakes fans are also encouraged to wear something blue whilst watching the game and, if they can, to donate to Shelter's campaign by donsating on this link or texting HOME to 70544.

The following are messages from Shelter:

"Home stadium. Home colours. Home game. The football community knows the importance of home. But this year, thousands of people will be spending Christmas in dingy hostels, on friends’ sofas, or even sleeping in freezing cars. This is something we can’t ignore. This Christmas, we're making a stand. Clubs and fans up and down the football pyramid are taking part in #NoHomeKit and swapping their home colours for an away or third kit to raise money and show support for those with no safe place to call home."

"Whether you’re watching at the ground or from your sofa, join the movement fighting to defend the right to a safe, secure and affordable home for everyone."
