Paul Holleran has moved to further strengthen his squad for a busy last two months of the season with the loan acquisition of midfielder Matt Richards from West Bromwich Albion. 

The 20-year-old is predominantly a defensive midfielder who thrives on breaking up play and setting up attacks. However, he has also played on the right side of a three month defence in Albion’s Premier League 2 side.

Matt has been with the Baggies since the age of 11, and signed his first professional contract before the end of his scholarship at the Academy. Throughout his scholarship he played in the under 18s and the under 21s as well as their Premier League 2 team.

Matt spent a short spell on loan at Stourbridge last season, and signed for Alvechurch on an initial short term loan last October. This was extended last month but was quite short this week in order for him to join Leamington and gain experience playing at step two.
