Paul Holleran has moved to bolster his squad further ahead of Saturday's trip to Chester with the signing of Billy Murphy.
The Birmingham born 23 year old is a versatile midfield player, and began his career at Hereford United where he was part of former manager Peter Beadle's youth side, and made his debut for the Bulls in 2014.
Leaving Hereford before the club folded Billy was snapped up by Bristol City, and captained their under 21 side before joining National League South Bath City. He returned to Hereford to join the phoenix club late in 2017, helping them to the Southern League title, and faced Brakes in the match at Edgar Street early this season.
Billy left Hereford at the turn of the year, and has spent the past couple of months at Halesowen Town.
The manager had this to say about his latest recruit: ‘I‘m delighted to be able to add Billy to the squad. He is somebody who we have been aware of for a while now, he has played against us a couple of times and has done well at Bath and Hereford.
‘With our current situation having a couple of injuries and a suspension it has been difficult trying to find unattached players to bring in, so think we have done well to get both Elliot Hodge and Billy this week. They are both young lads but are experienced at this level, and I think they will do well for us.’
We would like to welcome Billy to Leamington FC and wish him a successful time with us.
