Josh Quaynor spoke to the press last night ahead of Saturday's game against Long Eaton United.

The 32 year old right back joined the Brakes from Halesowen Town in the summer and has made 29 appearances, acting as an ever-present figure in the Brakes defence in league and national cup fixtures since the 0-0 draw at his previous club in August.

Looking back at the first half of the season, he reflected "I’d say it’s been a really quick first half of the season. Obviously in the first couple of weeks, I didn’t get as much game time as I wanted but the lads were all very welcome and everyone’s taken to each other.

"We’ve had a good start as well, I’ve been happy and hopefully in the second half of the season we can push on again together."

The supporter presence at games has certaily made an impact on the defender too, with there being a number of games already this season that have seen three figure away followings from Leamington fans. A chant that debuted at a pre-season away game at Racing Club Warwick has stuck, and it's now not uncommon to see Brakes fans championing a Ghanaian flag as a nod to Quaynor's heritage.

I guess with non-league it’s nice for the fans to be supportive and around the club," he said. "When you have a big number of fans like here, there’s a lot of views. It’s nice to hear your name sung on the terraces, it’s a family oriented place and a great place to be at."

His manager Paul Holleran has now managed 691 competitive matches in the Brakes' dugout, with Quaynor quick to heap praise for his manager, with this season being the first time he has played under him.

"I’ve always heard good things about him (Paul Holleran) and obviously I’ve played against his teams a lot. He’s seen me play quite a bit," he added.

"He’s very honest and I know why lots of people like him because he’s very professional and like I say I’ve been enjoying my time here - it’s been good.
