Paul Holleran has moved to strengthen his squad further for the new season by snapping up the experienced Josh Quaynor from newly promoted Halesowen Town.
The 31 year old can operate on the left side of defence or in midfield, and arrives having won promotion through the Play Offs in the Northern Premier League Midland Division with Halesowen last season.
Josh began his career at Cheltenham Town, spending loan spells at Worcester City and Bromsgrove Rovers before spending time with Evesham United and Redditch United, Stourbridge and Coleshill Town prior to signing for Bromsgrove Sporting in 2017. He helped the Rouslers to the Midland League title, and spent four seasons at the Victoria Ground before switching to the Yeltz last season, and another successful promotion campaign.
‘I’m delighted to get Josh on board,’ said the manager. ‘He’s a versatile experienced campaigner at this level of football, and he’s got a great reputation. We are very much looking forward to working with him, and hope that he enjoys his time at Leamington.’
‘When I got the phone call from Paul and he said he was interested in signing me it was a no brainer for me,’ said Josh. ‘He’s always had good sides as a manager, and Leamington are a good established club. I’ve played at some big clubs including Bromsgrove and Halesowen, winning promotion with both and league trophies, which will always be some of the best memories of mine. But sometimes in non league football you’ve got to try and better yourself and do what’s right for you.’
We would like to welcome Josh and his family to Leamington Football Club, and hope that he enjoys a successful time with us.
