Jake Weaver is the latest key member of Paul Holleran’s squad to agree a new deal for the 2021/2022 season.
The 24 year old goalkeeper has made 62 appearances for Brakes over the last two truncated campaigns, keeping 17 clean sheets. He had previous experience of National League football having spent loan spells at Hungerford Town and Kidderminster Harriers as a young professional at Birmingham City, but after signing for Leamington on a permanent basis last summer he continued to show that he is a more than able custodian, pulling off some stunning saves and helping his team to a penalty shoot out victory at Wrexham in the FA Trophy.
‘I’m really pleased to be signing on for next year and very grateful to be given the opportunity to sign for my third season at Leamington,’ said Weaver.
‘Despite last season unfortunately being curtailed I felt that as a team we were heading towards a good place, with some excellent results in the games we did manage to play. We have a good group of players with a strong work ethic and desire to improve.
‘I’m looking forward to the new season beginning and I’m positive that we’ll be able to hit the ground running and have a strong season.’
