We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Leamington FC and the West Bromwich Albion academy.
This relationship will centre on recruitment pathways for both parties and in particular will provide assistance for all of our community activities such as soccer schools, junior schools, development centres and academies.
There will also be opportunities for our coaches to develop via CPD events at West Bromwich Albion.
Leamington FC will travel to Farsley Celtic on Tuesday 3 November in a rearranged Vanarama National League North fixture following the postponement of the original fixture on 24 October. The other fixture impacted by the two week self-isolation period for the Leamington squad has also been rearranged with Darlington visiting the Community Stadium on Tuesday 8 December.
Following AFC Fylde's 2-1 victory over Altrincham in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round on Sunday, our game against the Coasters has been postponed as they will travel to League Two Exeter City that weekend. Dates for the postponed games against both Fylde and Gateshead are still to be confirmed. We will announce details these dates as soon as they are agreed.
The Vanarama National League have released details of the grant funding to support the member clubs through the next three months, to cater for lost revenue as we continue the season behind closed doors. Leamington FC will receive a grant of £30,000 per calendar month for the next three months provided games continue to be played behind closed doors.
The grant from the National Lottery is very welcome and helps offset the loss of gate receipts, match sponsorship and matchday revenues. The club thanks the National Lottery, DCMS, FA and the National League for working together to achieve this financial support.
The uncertainty created by Covid 19 continues to affect the club in so many ways. With regard to the ongoing situation of players having tested positive for coronavirus, the end result of testing is that four players have tested positive with two of those players being asymptomatic and the other two having mild symptoms, from which they have recovered. On the advice of the Club Medical Officer the First Team Squad were placed in a 14 day period of football isolation until Monday 26th October.
The affected players thank you for your support and wish for a speedy recovery with the First Team Squad returning to training on Tuesday 27th October and in preparation for the fixture at home to Gateshead on Saturday 31st October.
We cannot wait for the day when we are allowed to welcome spectators through the gate but in the meantime we hope that you and your families keep safe and well.
Entry to the weekly draw costs just £1
