We were saddened to hear of the death of former Brakes captain Roy Bradley last week.
Roy played for Lockheed between 1959 and 1964, making at least 207 appearances (10 goals) with a number of gaps still to fill in the archive, and captained the side during the successful 1961-62 season, lifting both the Birmingham League and the Birmingham Senior Cup.
Roy's family have shared details of his funeral that will be held at Oakley Wood Crematorium North Chapel on December 4th at 1pm, followed by a wake at the Heathcote Pub. There will be a number of pictures and press cuttings from the time on display.
Junior English was stretchered off the pitch last night after suffering a loss of feeling in some of his body on the pitch following an aerial challenge. Precautionary measures were taken and after a short period, we are pleased to announce that Junior regained full feeling and was able to join the rest of the players in the dressing room.
Junior will have some precautionary tests in the coming week before he can consider returning to play. We look forward to seeing him back on the pitch as soon as he gets the all clear.
Reduced prices have been confirmed for next Tuesday's Birmingham Senior Cup Second Round tie against Rugby Town.
