Last summer the club introduced a new Youth Development Programme, with the aim to create a pathway for developing and nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for progression all the way into the first team.
The programme started with only one team at Under 18’s competing in the Midland Junior Premier League and are currently being managed by Derry Hart and Scott Pheasey. In preparation for next season, the club are looking to add three new age groups into the programme. These age groups will be Under 10’s, Under 11’s and Under 21’s.
The Under 21’s side will create a platform for players finishing their time in the Under 18’s and the Under 19’s Academy, to play and develop in the Midland Football League Under 21’s League *Subject to League Approval* giving them more time and opportunity to potentially reach the standard of the first team.
The Under 10’s and Under 11’s will give us the opportunity to recruit and develop players from an earlier age providing them with a pathway to progress through the age groups within the programme. We will be looking for both coaches and players to form these age groups.
Discussions are ongoing with Moreton Morrell College re developing our current partnership with them further and making use of their proposed new artificial floodlit pitch which should be in place by this coming summer.
