Paul Holleran has moved to further bolster his attacking options in the final third of the season by snapping up Daniel Sweeney from Solihull Moors.
Daniel, who turned 21 yesterday, has joined in a deal to the end of the season, and will link up again with Jordan Murphy, who also joined Solihull last summer. He can play both out on the wing or as a striker, and made a storming start to the season at Solihull when he scored the winner in their opening game at Eastleigh just four minutes after being introduced as a substitute.
Daniel is a product of the Kidderminster Harriers youth system. Moving up to their first team in 2014, he spent productive loan spells at Stourport Swifts and Halesowen Town among others.
The strength in depth of the Moors’ squad and their tremendous season so far has seen his opportunities limited, but Daniel has still had a successful season to date; a loan spell at Hednesford Town in October yielding 7 goals in 10 games, scoring on his debut once more, before spending the last couple of months at Halesowen Town.
His exploits while out on loan have prompted Solihull to tie him down on a new contract as they continue to snap up the brightest young talent in the Midlands whilst pushing for promotion to the Football League.
We would like to welcome Daniel to Leamington FC and hope he has an enjoyable and productive time with us.
