Paul Holleran gives his reaction to another point on the board up at Guiseley today:
‘It was a really good game to be fair. I think possibly going in at half time level was right, I was pleased with the way we looked after the ball. We looked a threat all afternoon and it was pleasing that the players coming in did really well - James Bowen came in at left back, Jack Edwards moved back into central defence, which when he came to the club a few years was a position he played in quite a lot. The balance of the players on the pitch worked really well, there were lots of seven and eight out of ten performances today, which was nice after the Brackley game when we struggled. The players needed to rest up a little bit and that helped us no end against a big, powerful side.
‘You won’t see a better goal this season than our equaliser….. Five or six quick one or two touch passes, opened them up and it was a great strike from Jordan Murphy. It was a good even game but I think we’ve had the clear cut chances to win it. On the balance a draw was probably just about right but when you’ve had two one on ones and you’ve hit the bar, you do start to think to yourself….. Obviously with being away from home as well… I’m really really pleased that we’ve come to yet another big club and haven’t been sitting on the edge of our box. We’ve been pressing, we’ve played good football and created chances, so we’re delighted. It would be hard to pick a man of the match, there were so many good performances. I’m delighted for young Jordan to get his goal as well.’
‘We’d love to turn some of these draws into wins but when you’re drawing against Brackley home and away, you’re drawing at York City away and Guiseley, you can’t underestimate how powerful those results are. Obviously we had some issues today with players being unavailable and players not being well. When you look at the whole picture it’s fantastic form. To be fair it was probably a winning draw for us today, whereas probably New Years Day was probably a winning draw for Brackley. We always knew that this would be a tough period for us. I thought that from the start of December to the end of January, looking at the fixtures it would be difficult, but we’ve still only lost one. We’ve shown lots of know how, lots of maturity and there have been some good individual performances. And again, I’ve got to mention…. The Saturday after Christmas and New Year when as I’m sure people are well aware, I think we have to play too much football, for the supporters to travel this far and in good numbers, so soon after Christmas, is fantastic and we all really appreciate it.’
