The AGM of the Vanarama National League was held at Celtic Manor on Saturday 9th June with Brakes place in the Vanarama National League North confirmed for Season 2018-19. In the lead up to the meeting some doubts had surrounded the participation of Nuneaton Borough for the season ahead but those were allayed and the compilation of the league is as was announced by the FA several weeks ago. In what is sure to be another exciting campaign Manager Paul Holleran and his players will be pitting their wits against new clubs, Chester, Hereford, Guiseley, Altricham and Ashton United.
The season kicks off on Saturday 4th August 2018 concluding on Saturday 27th April 2019 with the fixture schedule being released on Wednesday 4th July.
In a day of plusses clubs were advised that league sponsors Vanarama have extended their sponsorship for a further three years with BT Sport doing likewise. League officials also highlighted that crowd attendance figures are at an all time high and viewing figures with BT Sport also significantly increased.
Even better news for clubs was the announcement that the FA have doubled the prize money for the FA Cup. Brakes enter the competition at the Second Qualifying Round stage in September with £9000 on offer for the winners of the tie.
