Paul Holleran has added further depth to his squad ahead of the opening friendly of Brakes' pre season schedule against Stourbridge next Saturday by bringing Tom James back to the club.
TJ began his career at his home town club in the Youth set up, and was part of Jason Cadden's squad that romped to a Midland Alliance league and cup double in a memorable 2006/2007 campaign.
It was at our near neighbours Stratford Town that Tom caught the eye of then Watford boss Sean Dyche, and realised his dream of becoming a professional when the Hornets signed him on a 1 year deal in the summer of 2011, and he made his debut in an FA Cup 3rd round tie against Bradford City at Vicarage Road.
Since then the 27 year old has gained a wealth of experience playing mainly in the National League North for Nuneaton Town, Corby Town, Tamworth and last season Hednesford Town, along with a spell at Daventry Town. He ended last season on loan at Rugby Town.
This will be Tom's third spell at the club after he spent a short spell on loan with us back in 2012/13. Paul Holleran was pleased to have secured the services of the versatile left sided player, saying 'I am delighted to be able to bring Tom back to Leamington, he has an obvious affinity with us as it's his home town club, and I am looking forward to working with him.'
The player himself had this to say: 'I am really excited to have signed for Leamington and am looking forward to the season ahead. The ambition the manager has for the club made my decision to return an easy one, and it is always good to be part of a football club that is looking to go places.'
