Paul Holleran has made his first new signing of the summer after agreeing terms with striker Ryan Rowe.
Ryan will be known to Brakes supporters from his time at Stourbridge. He joined the Glassboys after winning the Midland Alliance Golden Boot in 2008/09 in his first season at Cradley Town, and went on to score 73 times in 146 games before signing for hometown club Kidderminster Harriers for an undisclosed five figure fee in February 2012. After 14 goals in 60 appearances over 2 and a half seasons at Aggborough, the 27 year old joined Brackley Town having spent a loan spell with the Northamptonshire side the previous season, along with another spell back at Stourbridge. After a season at St James’ Park, Ryan joined fellow National League North side Worcester City, only to switch to AFC Telford United a little over a month into the 2015/16 season.
With the Bucks struggling at the wrong end of the table for most of the season, Ryan spent the final two months of the campaign at Midland League Premier Division side Lye Town, scoring 15 times in as many games.
Leamington’s goals scored column was one of the lowest in the division last season despite the great record of Ben Mackey, and Paul Holleran will be hoping that with a good scoring record at this level and above, his latest attacking acquisition will help to remedy that issue in the coming campaign.
Said Holleran of his new signing: ‘I’m delighted to get a player of Ryan’s quality and calibre, but what impressed me the most was his sheer desire to come and play for Leamington and score goals.'
