All at Leamington FC are deeply saddened to hear that Southern League Chairman Anthony Hughes passed away yesterday having fought a lengthy battle against cancer. Our condolences to his family, friends, colleagues in the Southern League and all of our friends at Merthyr Town at this difficult time.
Leamington FC Chairman, Jim Scott, said, "I have known Anthony for over 15 years since first dealing with him as Secretary of Merthyr Tydfil. He was a lovely chap with a passion for non-league football. His commitment to the game was huge and he always conducted himself in an exemplary manner. He will be sadly missed."
