Those of you who have watched any of our pre season games will already be aware, but Paul Holleran has named Adam Walker as his new club captain for the forthcoming season.
Walks takes over from Jack Edwards, who decided to step back from the role having led the side throughout the majority of our six seasons in the National League North.
'Jack has been a fantastic captain and leader for us over a number of years, and still is,' said the manager. 'I think he wants to concentrate more on Jack now though.
'Adam Walker has bags of experience, ticks every box you would want, and I think he will be a great help to us as a captain, both on and off the pitch.
'We are very fortunate at Leamington to have several players, the likes of Adam, Jack, Tyrone Barnett, Junior English, Joe Clarke, Theo Streete, Jack Lane - all of whom are leaders.'
Holleran also revealed that Dan Baldwin, who has featured in all of our pre season fixtures as a trialist, has signed on for the coming season, along with three members of our league winning Under 21's/Reserve side from last season - goalkeepers Ethan Pheasey and Luke Slater, and midfielder Toby Nicoll, who made his first team debut in the final game of last season against Southport.
'Dan is a young lad who came through the Academy at Walsall, and is somebody that we feel has a lot of potential. We want to work with him and see how he develops.
Ethan, Toby and Luke have also signed forms for the new season, and we will possibly look to get them game time out on loan to keep them sharp, but they will be involved with the first team squad.'
