Paul Holleran has moved quickly to cover for the loss of Dan Turner by signing Tom Hewlett on loan from Burton Albion.
Turner limped off at Southport on Saturday with a suspected ankle problem, leaving Brakes without a recognised striker, and Hewlett, who spent some time with us during pre season, fits the bill.
The 20 year old has been at Sky Bet League 1 Burton since 2018 when he joined as a scholar; signing his first professional contract two years later and making his first team debut in September 2020 in an EFL Trophy tie against Peterborough United.
Having battled back from a serious injury Tom spent time on loan at Redditch United towards the end of last season, and signed a new contract at Burton in the summer. He spent the first month of this season in with Belper Town, scoring in their opening game of the season.
There will be familiar faces to greet him at Leamington, with goalkeeper Callum Hawkins also on loan with us from Burton, while Ben Usher Shipway was a teammate during a loan spell at Rushall Olympic.
We would like to welcome Tom to Leamington FC and hope that he enjoys his time with us.
