Skipper Jack Edwards and midfield colleague Devon Kelly-Evans have become the latest members of Paul Holleran's first team squad to commit to the club for the 2022/2023 season.
Jack made 39 appearances and scored 5 goals last season, and spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a worrying health condition that thankfully cleared up eventually when he was given the all clear to play again, and he quickly showed his worth to the team on his return, scoring the winner against Blyth Spartans to end a 10 game winless streak in the league.
After starting the first three games of the season, Devon had to patiently wait for his chance to establish himself in the starting eleven following his summer move from our Southern League county neighbours Nuneaton Borough, but he did just that, making 36 appearances and scoring four goals - all of them stunners - not least the opener in the Birmingham Senior Cup Final. He also picked up the Directors Player of the Season award.
Naturally manager Paul Holleran was delighted to be able to tie down two key members of last season's squad, saying 'Obviously we are delighted that both lads have agreed to remain with us next season. Both Jack and Devon made huge contributions over the last 9 months and are both important members of our midfield engine room.'
