Kyle Morrison has left the club today to join AFC Fylde for an undisclosed fee, and in doing so becomes the latest Brakes player to earn a move into the full time professional ranks. The deal was completed late this afternoon.
Chairman Jim Scott said 'Whilst we are disappointed to lose Kyle at the same time we are equally delighted for him that he is getting the opportunity to play full time football. He follows on from a number of players who have taken the same path, and for every player who achieves their dream through us it can only encourage players to come and play for Leamington when they see the success we have had at helping others into the full time game.
Kyle signed for Brakes from Southern League Alvechurch in the summer of 2020, and was an ever present in the curtailed 2020/2021 season as he formed a tough, uncompromising partnership alongside Jack Lane in central defence; winning many man of the match awards and turning heads with his performances.
That has continued this season, and while our former striker James Rowe was interested when at Chesterfield, the new Fylde boss has wasted little time in adding to his squad, giving Kyle the chance to become a full time professional.
Kyle made 57 appearances in total during his time with us, and though we are extremely saddened to see him leave us, we wish him all the best in his career going forward, and hope that the Coasters fans enjoy watching him play as much as we have.
