Paul Holleran has revealed that James Mace is to return to the Brakes squad after beginning the season on dual registration at Bromsgrove Sporting.
Mace, who is just 5 appearances away from taking our modern day appearance record from Josh Blake, has featured in all 22 of the Worcestershire club's games in all competitions this season as he worked his way back to full fitness following an ACL injury in our National League North game at Guiseley in March 2020.
'It was always my intention to bring James back to the football club,' said Holleran of the versatile veteran defender. 'It has been a long road to recovery for him, and it was always going to be a case of making sure he was ready to play National League North football again. He has seen plenty of competitive action at Bromsgrove, and if anybody can make the step back up it is James.
'He is one of the fittest players I have seen, and is a shining example to any player. We have some great experienced pros around the place at Leamington - the likes Junior English, Callum Gittings - James falls into that category. He is very well thought of by everybody and it will be great to have him back.'
