Connor Taylor has left the club to link up with former team mate Kieran Dunbar at Southern League Premier Division side Bromsgrove Sporting.
The 28 year old joined Leamington in 2018, and made 73 appearances, scoring 3 goals.
On leaving his home town club, Connor had this to say: ‘ It’s sad times and was a tough decision, but Leamington is my home town club - that hasn’t changed. And what a good club it is - from the gaffa right through to all involved. I am thankful for my time there and i'll be back up to support the lads whenever I can, but for now at my age I need to go somewhere where I can play week in week out and enjoy my football on the pitch.’
Paul Holleran was glowing in his praise of Taylor. ‘As has already been reported Connor Taylor has left the club to join Bromsgrove Sporting. Connor started his pre season with us but after an honest conversation between the two of us - as good as Connor’s been for us, as a professional - a fantastic character - a brilliant, honest, hard working boy his game time has been limited.
‘He had a couple of Step 3 clubs speak to him and he wanted to go and have a look and assess it, and he’s since decided that moving forward it’s the best thing for him to do. We wish him all the best - he’s joined a really good football club and he’ll be sorely missed, because even though sometimes players might not play as many first team games or score that many goals; he had a big impact around the place, and is certainly one my favourite players that I’ve worked with over many a year - he’s a really good kid and I hope it works out for him at Bromsgrove. Hopefully it won’t be long before we see him back at Leamington in some capacity.’
