Striker Lance Smith has become the latest member of Brakes’ 2020/21 squad to agree a new deal for the forthcoming season.
The prolific former Evesham United and Hereford frontman had suffered a frustrating time with injuries prior to signing for Leamington last summer, and unfortunately last season was not without disappointment as injury prevented him from involvement in the last half a dozen games of what was another shorter than usual season due to the COVID19 pandemic. However, Lance feels this may benefit him in the coming months as he looks forward to getting back to scoring goals, and continuing to be an important cog in Paul Holleran’s side:
‘Personally I felt last season was good and bad. It was good to get games under my belt but bad to pick up some injuries. However, having such a stop start season helped me. As a group I thought it was a great season - I thoroughly enjoyed it. The squad played and competed at a high level and we had some great highs. I felt welcome right from the start and can’t wait to get going this season. I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans so they can see me play in the flesh for the first time, and would like to progress and stay as fit as possible to show what I can do for the team and for Leamington FC.’
