Long serving defender James Mace may have been sidelined with an ACL injury since the final game of our curtailed 2019/20 season at Guiseley, but Brakes physiotherapist Pete Denham reports that he is making promising progress towards fitness.
'He's about 18 weeks post operation now and he's started fully functional rehabilitation with me and Tom (Gallagher, Assistant Physio) - he's doing plenty of straight line running and he's in the gym working hard on his leg strength. He's got to see the surgeon again at the beginning of December when he should be discharged and hopefully by January he'll be close to full training.'
James was just five appearances from smashing the appearance record set by Brakes legend Josh Blake back in 2010 when he suffered the ligament injury just eight minutes into the game at Nethermoor Park, but as these videos show, he is fully focussed on regaining full fitness and claiming his place in the history books. We sincerely hope that when he does return, the fans are able to be there to witness it.
