Danny Waldron has become Paul Holleran's fifth new signing of this elongated close season as preparations for the 2020/2021 campaign start to gather pace.

'I'm delighted to get this one over the line,' said the Brakes boss. 'Danny has established himself at Step 3 and the challenge now for him is to push on and establish and test himself as a National League player. He's got all the tools - he's two footed, he's a good size, he's got that change of pace and gets his fair share of goals... he's got all the attributes that are needed. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he grows at this level.

'He's a player that we've been trying to get over the line all summer really. We've managed to sort that out so I'm delighted, he will be a really good addition to the squad. On top of that he's a great kid.

'Danny can play in any one of the front three positions. He's versatile and comfortable, and is certainly a player that the fans will enjoy watching once we can get them back into the stadiums.'

24 years old, Danny began his career at Halesowen Town, scoring regularly for the Yeltz's Youth side before breaking into the first team. He then spent time playing for Liverpool's John Moores University team while also turning out for Smethwick in the West Midlands Regional League. Danny was snapped up by Rushall Olympic in the summer of 2017, and over the following three seasons proved himself more than capable of performing at Step 3. In his first season at Dales Lane he finished as top scorer and won Manager Liam McDonald's Player of the Season award. He also finished the next two campaigns having hit well into double figures in goals, finishing with 48 in around 125 games for The Pics.

The player himself had this to say following his signing:
'I can’t wait to play for Leamington as it’s at a higher level and I have heard a lot of positive things about the club, the other lads and the manager here. I’m hoping I can contribute to the goals and assists and hopefully we can have a strong finish.'

We welcome Danny to Leamington FC and hope he enjoys a successful time with us.
