Summer holidays become a little less boring for the children of South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust’s (SWFT) staff, thanks to Leamington Football Club’s free football camps.
Leamington FC recently contacted the Trust to offer football camps free of charge to the children who has a relative employed by SWFT. This offer is to thank staff for their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as showing appreciation to the children for supporting their family member to care for the local population.
The camps, which are aimed at children aged 5-14, and have been running from Monday 3rd August, offer activities designed to be fun, engaging and social. The sessions are being led by qualified Football Association coaches crafting a perfect environment for the children to hone their skills and abilities.
The sessions offer an amazing opportunity to boost young player’s confidence as well as make new friends within the local area and who knows…. maybe become Leamington FC players of the future!
Mark Fogarty, Leamington FC’s Football and Business Development Manager said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been able to partner with the NHS so that we can offer SWFT staff the opportunity to place their children onto our holiday courses here at Leamington FC free of charge. This is so we as a club can say thank you for looking after everybody during this challenging time.”
Ann Pope, Director of HR at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are extremely grateful for this kind offer from Leamington FC. As a Trust we actively promote health and wellbeing so it’s reassuring to see such a positive uptake from children of our staff. We hope to work with the club again in the future on similar initiatives to encourage an active lifestyle amongst our local population”
