Leamington FC is delighted to announce that football consultant Mark Fogarty has accepted the role of Football and Business Development Manager at the club. Fogarty joined the club in a consultancy capacity in July 2019 with the remit to conduct a review of its Community, Football Academy and Development sections of the club with the aim of identifying structures, operating practices and pathways that will help move the club forward in those areas.
He was additionally tasked with developing the Post 16 Leamington FC Football Academy in partnership with Moreton Morrell College and we are delighted to say that he has made significant progress with that in the past twelve months.
Fogarty will have responsibility for overseeing the Leamington FC Academy (Moreton Morrell) together with the new Leamington FC U7-16 Academy Scheme plus take the lead on the development of all football pathways within the club.
He will additionally have responsibility for developing business activity within schools and the wider community, sourcing grants and working in partnership with the soon to be launched Brakes Community Foundation on such grant applications and funding opportunities.
Leamington FC Chairman Jim Scott said “Mark has enjoyed his time at the club and we were keen to secure his services on a more permanent basis, although the finances were always going to be challenging in the current climate. The progress he has made in developing the Academy together with other initiatives effectively meant that his role will be self funding. His challenge is to continue that growth both within the academy set-ups and developing our business within the wider community provision. His wide experience in all these areas should prove to be a real asset for us”
Mark Fogarty stated ”I am delighted to accept this position within the club and look forward to working with the other stakeholders to continue the progression of other developmental pathways such as the U19s , the U7-16 Academy, Development Centres and Disability to name but a few. This is a hard time for all football clubs but also I believe an exciting time at this club with many good people on board pulling in the same direction. I thank the board for their trust in me".
