Paul Holleran has allayed the fears of Brakes fans by announcing that the in demand Jack Edwards has agreed to remain at the club for the forthcoming season.
The popular midfielder has amassed 230 appearances and 40 goals in Leamington colours since arriving at the club in the summer of 2014 from Barwell, and save for a couple of months away at Solihull Moors he has played a huge part in the successes of recent seasons, adapting well to the National League North.
‘I am delighted to announce that Jack Edwards has agreed a new deal with Leamington for the new season,’ said the manager. ‘Obviously there had been speculation about Jack, but throughout that I was quietly confident that he would stay with us. He’s not the only player in the squad to receive interest, but the interest he has received is on the back of a couple of good seasons for us, and players like Jack who are versatile, experienced now, he chips in with goals, is good in both boxes and can play in a number of positions - are priceless really. I just feel that where Jack is, in himself, in his life, where we are as a football club; the geography of the football club, the way we run the football club - we’re a good fit. He’s very important to what we do. I’m delighted that he’s committed his future to Leamington, and look forward to working with him again in the coming months.’
