Paul Holleran has announced an exciting first new arrival of the close season at Leamington FC with the signing of Josh March from Alvechurch.
Comfortable in wide midfield or as a striker, Josh made his debut for the Worcestershire club as an 18 year old in 2015 with the club in the Midland League and has enjoyed four successful seasons as Alvechurch regained their place in the upper echelons of the Non League pyramid after a gap of 25 years, winning back to back promotions into the Southern League Premier Division, where they reached the play off positions once more before defeat to King's Lynn Town in the final.
Josh scored 81 goals in 184 games for the 'Church, regularly topping the club's scoring charts, and the Brakes boss feels that the 22 year old will fit in well at his new club. 'He's come through the leagues with Alvechurch and has developed as a player. I think Alvechurch and (former manager) Ian Long have done a great job with him, but he's made it quite clear that he wants the opportunity to step up to the National League North, and myself and Josh both feel that Leamington is the perfect step up for him. I think the way he plays and the way we play will be a good fit, and he's another young boy that I'm hoping will not only establish himself in the National League but will kick on, and we're delighted to get him on board.'
