Neil originally joined Leamington from Evesham United in the February of 2010/11, helping the team secure a play off place. He was to suffer a horrific double leg break thanks to a two footed challenge from former Brakes player Jay Denny in the play off semi final defeat at Hednesford Town, and did not resume playing again until Janaury, spending two months with Halesowen Town before returning to the New Windmill Ground in mid March of the 2011/2012 season. His reappearance coincided with Leamington ending an inexplicable 12 game run without a win, and while the team were to lose none of their remaining fixtures that season they would fall short of reaching the play off places. 

Neil scored his only goal for Brakes in a dramatic 4-3 defeat at Stourbridge in 2010/11.
