Sam joined Leamington in September 2011, making his debut in a 0-0 draw with Hitchin Town at the New Windmill Ground. He scored his first goal for the club a week later in an FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie against Boldmere St Michaels. He was never really able to cement a regular starting berth during his time at the club, but made some crucial contributions, not least scoring a goal at Chesham United that helped Brakes to push on in the final weeks of the 2012/13 season to win the Southern League title. He spent 10 games on loan with Evesham United during that season too, and was originally at Walsall, where he made 2 appearances for the Saddlers' first team.
