Marcus Jackson signed for Leamington in summer 2007 after being invited for a trial by Jason Cadden having stood out in the Tipton Town side beaten by Brakes in the Midland Alliance League Cup Final at the end of the previous campaign. He impressed the Brakes fans so much in a pre season game at Nuneaton that they implored the manager to 'sign him up,' which he duly did.
Jacko himself admitted that he had never stayed at one club for too long, so the fact that he spent almost 4 seasons at Leamington speaks for itself. He became a firm fans favourite with his committed, energetic all action performances, not to mention his wacky haircuts and somersaulting celebrations after scoring. He didn't get many goals for Leamington but the ones he did get were usually pretty special, a screamer in a 4-1 win over local rivals Rugby Town AFC being most memorable.
