Experienced defender Martin Hier was one of a number of players signed by Jason Cadden prior to the 2006/07 season as the club prepared for an ultimately very successful assault at promotion to the Southern League. He played an integral part in the Midland Alliance League and Cup double, to the runners up position and the play off final, and finally the Midland Division title win in his final season with the club.
