Paul Holleran has revealed that he has struck a deal to bring former Walsall midfielder Reece Flanagan back to the club on a permanent basis.
Long term fans of the club will recall that Reece spent a loan spell with us as a 19 year old back in our first season in the Conference North (2013/2014), making a big impression in the final 8 games of the season as Brakes finished comfortably in mid table, scoring twice, most notably a sublime individual effort in a 4-0 home win over Oxford City, and being awarded man of the match on at least three occasions.
A product of the Walsall academy, Reece went on to break into the Saddlers' first team the following season, and made nearly 50 appearances in League 1 prior to his release in the summer. He was very unfortunate to miss the entire 2016/17 campaign after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, and then dislocating his shoulder during his comeback game ten months later.
'I'm delighted to be able to bring Reece back to the football club', said Brakes boss Holleran. 'He made a significant impact when he was first with us on loan with us 4 years ago, and is a very talented player. He's had a tough time with injuries but he's still in the early stages of his career and is more than capable of making a contribution for us at this level. He's been training with us a bit so we've decided to get him in on a permanent basis and see how he gets on. He's full of flu at the moment, so may not be involved when we travel to Ashton United on Saturday, but will hopefully be involved very soon'

We would like to welcome Reece back to Leamington Football Club and hope he enjoys a successful time with us.
