Paul Holleran has announced the signing of left sided defender Louis Hall to complete his close season business just a few days before our opening fixture against Farsley Celtic.
The 23 year old began his career at Aston Villa as a youngster, and also spent time with Kidderminster Harriers in their academy before spells with Stourbridge, Bromsgrove Sporting and Bedford Town.
He then spent the curtailed 2020/21 season in National League South with Oxford City, helping them to the 2nd round of the FA Cup, before signing a one year deal with League 2 Newport County last summer. He made his debut for the Exiles in an EFL Cup tie against Ipswich Town.
Louis was then loaned to our National League North rivals Gloucester City at the end of January, until the end of the season.
On joining Brakes, Louis had this to say: 'I’m very happy to have joined Leamington and I can’t wait to get started on Saturday. I spoke to some of the lads I already knew from here and they spoke so positively about the club. They told me they thought I’d really enjoy it and it would be good for me. I've also had a good few phone calls with the manager which really helped make my mind up as it sounds like a great fit. I'm glad it’s all sorted and hopefully it’ll be a successful season.'
'I'm delighted to get Louis on board,' said the manager. 'He's a young, local lad who as well as his full time experience has played a number of games in both the National League North and South. We've been looking to add a left footed player into the squad all summer. It has proved very difficult, so we were delighted when Louis became available towards the end of pre-season. He gives us good options down the left hand side of the pitch and we're really looking forward to working with him.'
We would like to welcome Louis to Leamington Football Club and wish him a successful time with us.
