Theo Streete has become Paul Holleran's third new signing of the close season as the experienced defender joins after leaving our National League North rivals AFC Telford United.
The 34 year old has gained vast experience both at this level and above since beginning his career at Derby County in 2006, playing predominantly in central defence, but also on the right side and in a central defensive midfield role. Theo made his professional debut as a youngster in League 1 for Doncaster Rovers in September of that year. His final game for Doncaster, which was the club's final game at their Belle Vue stadium, saw him score the only goal against Nottingham Forest.
He also spent a short spell at Rotherham United before dropping into Non League with then newly formed Solihull Moors in the Conference North. After four years with the Moors he then spent four years in the National League with Alfreton Town and Nuneaton Town, before returning to Solihull in 2015, captaining the side as they won the National League North.
A short spell at Brackley Town preceded a move to Telford in 2018, where he has spent the last four seasons.
'I have played alongside quite a few of the squad in the past, so I am familiar with most of the lads,' said Theo upon signing. 'We have a few that can play in numerous positions and are willing to do so for the team, and I will be no different in that respect - wherever I am required to play I will do so for the team to help us succeed.
'I'm very happy to have signed. I think that we have got a good mix of experience and young lads and I am sure that everyone will want to keep progressing.'
We would like to welcome Theo to Leamington Football Club and hope that he enjoys a successful time with us.
