Brakes debut: 25/08/01 v Handsaker - Midland Combination Division 1 - Won 5-0
Appearances (2001/02): 6 starts
Apparently discovered working in a soup kitchen for the homeless at the bottom of town in Leamington, goalkeeper Fabrizio Tosti can lay claim to being only the second Italian ever to play for Leamington. Making his debut in the second game of the 2001/02 campaign in place of the injured Richard Morris, he barely had a save to make in his first two outings as Brakes recorded 5-0 and 1-0 wins, but thereafter the supporters were fully entertained as Fabio, as he was christened by the North Bank, put in some eccentric and some downright brilliant displays, not least in the 2-1 win at Polesworth North Warwicks. Unfortunately he only made one further appearance, as having conceded a 90th minute equaliser against Northfield Town at the New Windmill Ground in the following game, he hurled his shirt to the ground in anger as he left the pitch, and did not play for the club again, though in later years he was seen watching on from the sidelines.
