Veteran striker Lee Steele was signed late on deadline day by Paul Holleran in April 2012 in a bid to boost his side's late but ultimately unsuccessful push for a place in the play offs. Steele had enjoyed a goal filled career both in the Football League and in Non League, and required three goals to bring his tally up to a round 200, and despite missing a penalty on his debut at Frome Town he achieved this with ease, scoring in home wins over Hemel Hempstead Town and Chesham, while grabbing the equaliser in 1-1 draw at Banbury United.
