Steve Smith signed for Leamington prior to the beginning of the 2004/05 season having moved to the area from London. He featured during pre season before injury ruled him out, and made his debut seven games in in a 1-0 win at Pilkington XXX. His arrival in the starting eleven coincided with six straight wins to add to the five already racked up from the opening six games by his new team mates. It perhaps says a lot about the stability Steve brought to the side that he was not involved in any of the three league defeats suffered that season, as Brakes romped to the Midland Combination Premier Division title by 19 points fro nearest rivals Coventry Sphinx. 

Steve was involved at the beginning of the following season in the Midland Alliance up until mid November, when he apparently left the club.
