Young Brakes 100% home record was blown away by an own goal and two goals in 2 minutes at the start of the second half by twins Sam and Ben Ford as a well drilled and hard working Coleshill Town produced the best performance seen from a visiting youth side for many a season. Right from the kick off the Brakes goal was immediately under siege with three good efforts failing to find the target.

Coleshill were winning every ball in midfield and chasing every loose ball causing Brakes to loose possession by failing to make the final pass and on 14 minutes following a surging run and cross into the box the unfortunate Jarrett scuffed the clearance into his own net.

Such was the pressure from the visitors that it was not until the 27th minute that Brakes' Will Evans tested the Reds keeper with a thumping shot from 20 yards. Brakes were beginning to put a few passes together and a promising move down the right flank was thwarted by some good covering defending by the Reds fullback.

The lively Coleshill number 9 Sam Ford was causing problems for the usually solid Brakes back four, latching onto some superb through balls from the influential number 7 Clement, drawing two fine saves from Brakes keeper Hopkinson just before the close of a difficult first half for Brakes.

The game was effectively over within 2 minutes of the restart as Coleshill were awarded a penalty for a handball which appeared to strike Brakes Kane Alexander lying in the 6 yard box following a near post cross and Sam Ford placed a perfect spot kick past Hopkinson to make it 2-0.

Brakes were shell shocked and in less than 3 minutes were dealt a further blow from identical twin Ben Ford who walked unmarked into the 6 yard box to bury a header from a corner.

Brakes gaffer brought on midfield Aiden Keavy and moved skipper Sam Jeeves to partner him in midfield. The change began to tell as Fitzmaurice blazed a good effort just over the upright.

Hopkinson was called on to make a smart save from a long range shot and pulled off a great block from Sam Ford when clean through on the edge of the box.

On 56 minutes an incredible free kick from 45 yards in front of the dugouts by Will Jarrett somehow beat the Coleshill keeper and hit the post. The Brakes midfield was now winning control and chances fell to Fitzmaurice and a fine cross which the keeper fumbled following a super overlap on the right wing from fullback Sam Brefo was recovered by the stopper as Winiarski looked to latch onto the rebound.

Coleshill swept forward from the move and the partnership of Clement and Ford produced the move of the game as Clement played a pinpoint pass into the unmarked Sam Ford who somehow missed an open goal.
