Richard arrived at the football club along with Paul Holleran and Lee Williams, initially as a player/coach. He made his debut in Paul's first game in charge, a 2-2 draw at Cambridge City, and made a total of 9 substitute appearances, effectively ending his playing career at the club as towards the end of the following year he became Reserve Team manager at Birmingham City. He is now in charge of the Academy at St Andrews, and has regularly brought teams down for pre season friendlies, along with lending players to the club.
