Leamington born midfielder Chris Murphy signed for his home town club in March 2009 and helped Jason Cadden's side to the Southern League Midland Division title. Having played in the Football League for Shrewsbury Town and also in the Conference for Telford United he added quality to the Brakes side, scoring a memorable goal in a 2-2 draw at Bury Town. 

Chris remained at the club for the next season or so before departing for Stratford Town where he linked up with several of his former team mates at Leamington.
