Ricky Johnson signed for Leamington in September 2012 from Banbury United, and became something of a cult hero, scoring 12 goals as Brakes won the Southern League title for the second time, and with it promotion into the Conference North. Ricky scored another 10 goals the following season at Step 2 memorably the second minute opener which helped earn a draw away at Stockport County. He opted to leave for Brackley Town ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
