Ryan Higgins spent the second half of the 2013/14 season at Leamington in a loan deal from Birmingham City, playing 22 games at right back as Paul Holleran's side finished in 13th position. His quality, along with that of Tony Breeden and Liam Daly, was sorely missed the following season as Brakes suffered relegation. 

Unfortunately Ryan had to retire from the game in 2018 after discovering that a hereditary heart condition in his family put him at risk when playing.
