Russell Dunkley was one of a trio of players signed from Woodford United as Brakes returned to the Southern League after a 20 year absence. The striker was only with the club for around half of the 2007/08 season however as he was snapped up by Brackley Town who were a division higher at the time. He scored the first of his five goals in an FA Cup win over Shifnal Town, the final one coming in a 4-0 victory over former club Woodford.
