Josh became Leamington’s first new signing of the close season when he signed from Alvechurch at the end of May 2018. Comfortable in wide midfield or as a striker, Josh made his debut for the Worcestershire club as an 18 year old in 2015 with the club in the Midland League and has enjoyed four successful seasons as Alvechurch regained their place in the upper echelons of the Non League pyramid after a gap of 25 years, winning back to back promotions into the Southern League Premier Division, where they reached the play off positions once more before defeat to King's Lynn Town in the final. On his first new recruit of the close season, Paul Holleran said ‘I think Alvechurch and (former manager) Ian Long have done a great job with him, but he's made it quite clear that he wants the opportunity to step up to the National League North, and myself and Josh both feel that Leamington is the perfect step up for him. I think the way he plays and the way we play will be a good fit, and he's another young boy that I'm hoping will not only establish himself in the National League but will kick on, and we're delighted to get him on board.'

The managers' faith in his new signing proved to be more than spot on, as Josh scored on his debut for Leamington, and did not stop! Brakes were the perfect fit for him to realise his dream of becoming a professional, and after a staggering 24 goals in his 27 games for Brakes, he signed for EFL side Forest Green Rovers in January 2020. Despite only spending a few months with Leamington, Josh left the fans with some priceless memories, and as with every player who has gone on to better things, they will continue to watch his progress with interest and pride.
