While Darran Tank was player that Brakes fans loved to hate during his four seasons in opposition for Rugby Town, the opposite was certainly true once he established himself in Leamington colours. Despite an inauspicious start to his time at the club (A 5-0 defeat on his debut and an own goal on his home debut!) Darran soon had the Brakes fans singing nice songs about him as he became an important cog in Jason Cadden's side which stormed to the Midland Combination Premier Division title.

He also played a big part in the enjoyable first season in the Midland Alliance that followed as Brakes embarked on a marathon 64 game campaign, with much success in cup competitions. After hanging up his boots Darran became Assistant Manager for a couple of seasons before stepping back to concentrate on his son Jamie's career, and was a regular visitor to the New Windmill Ground when Jamie himself went on to play for Leamington.
