Paul Holleran has utilised the Twelfth Man fund to bolster his attacking options with the signing of striker Colby Bishop as his preparations for the new season in National League North continue.

The 20 year old ended last season with Boston United having cancelled his contract at Worcester City, who he signed for last summer. He began his career at Notts County, coming through the Youth system before being handed a contract by then manager Shaun Derry in November 2014, making his first team debut on Boxing Day the following month at MK Dons.

Colby also spent a spell on loan at Gloucester City towards the end of his time at Meadow Lane, so will be well aware of what the league is all about.

The Brakes boss was pleased to have fought off the attentions of other clubs to bring in a player he has tracked for some time, saying ‘I have kept an eye on Colby for a while, we have tried to bring him to the club once before but we’re delighted that he has agreed to come to us. He’s a good size and a great target man and I think he’s got a big future in the game. He feels that Leamington is the right club for him at the moment, so I’m delighted with that and I am looking forward to working with him.

We would like to welcome Colby to Leamington Football Club, and hope that he has a successful time with us.
